Association "Automation directions in museums and information technologies" (ADIT)

ADIT-2006: Museums and the Information Space: Problems of Informatization and Cultural Heritage. Solovetsky, June 5–10, 2006.

We were fortunate to hold the tenth ADIT conference on the Solovetsky Islands (Arkhangelsk region). The key factor in choosing the venue was the fact that information technology has become an integral part of the activities of the conference host, the Solovetsky State Historical, Architectural, and Natural Museum-Reserve. The conference summarized ADIT's  activities over the past ten years: successful projects, missteps, and the search for new paths—all of these were the subject of reports, presentations, and discussions. And, of course, the unforgettable natural beauty of the Solovetsky Archipelago and its history. The conference on Solovki summed up ADIT's ten years of work and clearly demonstrated that ADIT has "outgrown its roots" and has become a fully-fledged player in the field of improving museum activities not only nationally but also internationally.
